The Camp Recovery Center provides residential, day treatment, intensive outpatient, and outpatient treatment for addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions. They have 2 separate treatment tracks for adults 18+ and teens ages 14-17. The Camp Recovery Center uses a 12-Step-based approach to treatment, incorporating 12-Step meetings and other evidence-based therapies into each client’s unique, individualized care plan.
The Camp Recovery Center begins treatment with thorough assessments to identify clients’ needs and histories with addiction and mental health. If needed, clients undergo detox to safely withdraw under the supervision of The Camp Recovery Center’s physician, nurses, and clinical technicians. They prescribe comfort medications as needed. After detox, clients move into residential treatment, day treatment, or intensive outpatient.
In residential treatment, clients live and heal with others in recovery for about 30 days. The Camp Recovery Center sits on 25 acres, with redwoods and forests surrounding their center. They have 5 residential cabins.Clients attend individual therapy at least once a week, with daily group therapy and 12-Step groups. In day treatment, clients live at home and come to The Camp Recovery Center 6 days a week for 15-30 days. The Camp Recovery Center’s intensive outpatient program (IOP) lasts 8+ weeks, with 4 weekly 3-hour sessions. They offer IOP and day treatment virtually, too. The Camp Recovery Center provides family therapy and a family program to help loved ones learn more about addiction, how to offer support, and how to heal together.
The Camp Recovery Center’s teen program provides an accredited academic program, experiential therapies like surfing, and a variety of evidence-based therapies (used for adults, too). These include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing techniques. Their psychologists, therapists, and addiction counselors lead individual and group therapies. The Camp Recovery Center also educates teens and adults on the science of addiction, relapse, and what their root cause of addiction may be. They work with the VA community care network to provide trauma-informed treatment for active-duty military and veterans. After treatment, clients join The Camp Recovery Center’s alumni community and may receive referrals to further care.
