About McLean Fernside

McLean Hospital, founded in 1811, is a leader in psychiatric care, research, and education and is one of the largest teaching hospitals of Harvard Medical School. McLean Fernside is a Signature Addiction Recovery Program that specialize in treating men and women who have previously completed a treatment program but have relapsed or are at higher risk to relapse. They offer a specialty track for those who have remained sober but have co-occurring disorders that need to be addressed to foster a full recovery. This recovery program is 30 days and costs approximately $59,500. They have around the clock care and supervision in a home-like. They use treatments based on clinical and neuroscience research with 12-Step integration and self-help resources. McLean Fernside has individual and group therapies along with education for clients and their families. Each client has tailored treatments that fit their individual needs. McLean Fernside has an extensive health education program that includes yoga, individualized fitness plans, nutrition education, smoking cessation, and expressive art and music therapies. They treat conditions such as depression, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD. They use evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). McLean Fernside has an intensive on-site diagnostic assessment that includes medication evaluation and management. Their program is self-pay, and they do not accept insurance or any third party reimbursement. They are accredited by the Joint Commission.

McLean Fernside, set near the beautiful Wachusett Mountains, is an elegant mansion that was built in 1835 and has been renovated. Warm and comfortingly furnished throughout the home, all bedrooms are private and include full baths. All meals are provided by culinary professionals in a beautiful dining room. Nutritionists are involved in developing the delicious menus for the clients. Clients have access to local recreational skiing, swimming, and tennis.
