Beit T’Shuvah is a residential facility treating substance addictions and gambling in a Jewish, faith-based environment. They take an integrative approach to treatment, combining addiction counseling, spiritual counseling, and psychotherapy to address individuals’ addictions and help them on their journey to recovery. Each client receives individualized care from their treatment team and participates in 1 hour of individual counseling per week. To participate in the Beit T’Shuvah program, clients must attend Torah study every morning, all group sessions, Shabbat services, 12-Step meetings, participate in volunteer work, and complete daily chores.
Beit T’Shuvah believes that addiction is a family disease and that recovery is most effective when the family is involved. They have designed a family program with several outlets for families to receive education and support while the loved one is in treatment. Beit T’Shuvah’s family programs include a 6-week education series, a multi-family process group, an intensive 3-day family immersion program, and family mentoring.
Through the Beit T’Shuvah congregation, individuals in recovery have the opportunity to participate in a music program and the film department. These programs provide artistic outlets for clients, blending their recovery and spirituality with art. The music program at Beit T’Shuvah includes a band and choir that lead music at the Shabbat services. The film department provides clients with the chance to express themselves through filmmaking and collaborate with others in the process.
