Surrounded by wooded pines and peace, Algamus is one of the few residential treatment centers for gambling addiction in the U.S. that focuses solely on treating gambling. They offer gender-specific treatment and flexible recovery programs lasting 4 to 6 weeks. During the program, certified gambling counselors gently guide individuals away from addiction towards a place of empowerment and acceptance. Many of the staff members deeply understand gambling addiction, having gone through the addiction and program themselves. Certified gambling counselors are also available. Algamus’ well-rounded program includes cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), 12-Step fellowship, yoga, nutrition, and more. Each treatment plan is highly individualized, taking into account the patient’s specific needs.
The Algamus mountain lodge makes for a serene and comfortable setting for recovery, far removed from a sterile environment. The lodge is surrounded by nature and close to Prescott, Arizona. Patients will also have access to alternative therapies, day trips to nearby places like Sedona, and a fitness routine that includes weekly yoga sessions to improve mindfulness, all in addition to daily individual counseling.
