Located in one of Milwaukee’s most historic neighborhoods, 4th Dimension Recovery offers day treatment and intensive outpatient programs, with a sober living component, for adults struggling with substance use.
The Day Treatment program includes medical supervision, clinical treatment, and intensive therapy for those suffering from substance abuse. Participants typically spend about 30 days in therapy groups, which meet several times a day. This provides structured and focused treatment all day, and participants return to the 4th Dimension sober living facility at night. This format gives participants a safe and structured environment in which to deal with many underlying issues, and also gives them an adequate amount of time to readjust before returning to life’s demands. Day treatment includes intensive group and individual therapy, which can help participants learn skills for preventing relapse at a time when they are most vulnerable to cravings.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is another step in the 4th Dimension recovery process. After completing the Day Treatment program, participants progress to IOP. While attending IOP, participants continue to live in the sober living environment, and attend group and individual therapy for half the day. The rest of the day is spent working, finding a job, going to school, going to 12-Step meetings, or other recovery activities. Most people spend about 45 days in IOP as they prepare for the transition to aftercare. IOP encourages active participation in 12-Step programs.
4th Dimension’s 3-month sober living program works in conjunction with the outpatient programs offered at the treatment center. While living in 4th Dimension’s sober housing community, residents will progress through multiple stages of treatment at the center. Treatment will include Day Treatment, intensive outpatient program (IOP), and aftercare. The sober living environment plays a key role in allowing clients to master important life skills that can assist them in their recovery journey after they have completed their treatment plan. After completing this program, community members have an option of participating in 4th Dimension’s 6-month program.
4th Dimension’s 6-month program is a non-institutional aftercare environment. The objective is to provide a safe and secure community for men and women who seek a life free from drugs and alcohol. The essence of this program is rooted in 12-Step philosophy. Residents communally live and work with one another as they build a firm foundation for lifelong recovery.
