In the first stage of treatment, teens at Guardian Recovery undergo a safe and comfortable detox. The process typically lasts 3-4 days, with medications prescribed as needed for comfort. Detox beds are near Guardian Recovery’s nursing station with medical staff on site 24/7. Teens can begin 1:1 therapy during detox and can attend optional therapeutic groups.
Guardian Recovery’s 21-bed residential program offers structured living, intensive therapeutic care, integral family involvement, and time for academics. Throughout their experience, teens learn coping tools for recovery, ways to address and navigate co-occurring mental health conditions, triggers, and cravings. Guardian Recovery additionally dedicates 2 hours Monday-Friday for teens to work on school, though teens can typically take a leave of absence during the short-term program.
Guardian Recovery involves family throughout their child’s treatment experience. Case managers and other staff communicate with loved ones to provide updates and support. Parents and loved ones attend weekly family therapy with their teen and their therapist. Families can also join Guardian Recovery’s weekly support group for family members for additional support and education.
Guardian Recovery treats primary substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, if present. Their evidence-based and holistic therapies address both conditions at once for a comprehensive recovery experience. Teens learn new, substance-free ways to manage and navigate their emotions through Guardian Recovery’s group and 1:1 therapies.
