This outpatient treatment center works to bridge the gap between acute residential care and a return to normal life. They exist as a step down from inpatient or as a starting point, depending on the patient’s level of addiction severity. Woburn uses the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s (ASAM) assessment to guide their placement and discharge decisions, so patients can rest assured they are being treated appropriately. They provide various levels of treatment, including partial hospitalization programs (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and outpatient treatment. For patients in IOP, the center provides both morning and evening sessions. They specialize in offering separate programs for alcohol addiction and opioid addiction, which could include medication-assisted treatment (MAT) if needed. All programs include evidence-based treatment and holistic options, including reiki, yoga and nutritional guidance.
All patients, no matter the level of care, receive 12-Step, evidence-based treatment. At the start of treatment, patients learn the neuroscience of addiction. Each patient then receives individualized medical and clinical care. An important part of recovery is learning to create new coping skills, so to help reinforce that idea, patients are given a gym membership. Another essential part of recovery is aftercare. Patients can participate in job skills programs after treatment to prepare for their return to work. Sober living options can also be made during or following treatment for patients who need additional structure and support. The center also offers alumni programs and support groups so patients can maintain the positive relationships they have built.
