About Paradigm Teen & Young Adults Treatment

For 12 years, Paradigm Treatment has been providing residential treatment for teens and young adults ages 12-26 with mental health issues. Their medical and clinical teams delve deep to address the root causes of the struggles young people face in today’s stress-filled world. They work closely with youth and their families, treating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, mood and personality disorders, and co-occurring substance use. Their academic coordinators address academic issues so that students can resume studies after treatment, while experiential approaches such as yoga, meditation, and equine therapy empower clients to transform their lives. Paradigm works with most commercial insurance, is accredited by The Joint Commission, and is in-network with Anthem, among others.

Recover Under California Sun And Compassionate Care

Paradigm’s 6 beautiful Malibu locations offer a resort-like atmosphere for teens and young adults, all while providing the top notch clinical and therapeutic treatment they need to recover. Paradigm is just blocks away from the ocean, allowing for beach excursions and sandy strolls. With only 6 clients allowed at a time per house, care at Paradigm is wholly intimate and personal, offering a space for reflection and healing. Paradigm’s mission is to get to the root cause of mental health disorders, first beginning with thorough psychological, physical, and nutritional assessments. The staff at Paradigm Treatment are both accredited and dedicated, walking teens and young adults through mental disorders and light to moderate substance use with a caring, compassionate, and professional hand.

Time to Heal, Learn, And Grow

Paradigm Treatment notably provides 4 individual therapy sessions per week, plus regular group and family sessions. Their 30-90-day program gives clients ample time to heal before returning to life outside of residential treatment. To combine and balance clinical treatment with experiential modalities, Paradigm also offers plentiful on and off-site activities, like swimming, surfing, horseback riding, a hot tub, and much more. Academic collaboration may also be used during the school year to maintain continuity with home schools. The program sets aside 3 hours for school, 5 days a week.

Life-Changing Treatment And Memorable Fun

Clients at Paradigm enjoy a memorable spread of amenities and specializations. Individualized and strengths-based treatment gives each teen or young adult the best chance for success, empowering them to keep choosing recovery and strive towards healing. Clients and their families retain access to aftercare services for 3 years after treatment, allowing for healing and recovery to fully integrate into the minds and lives of those in treatment.

Impressive Outcomes

Paradigm tracks the progress of clients from admissions through 1 year post-treatment. In the study, Paradigm found that depression and anxiety levels decreased from severe to mild. Stress levels reduced from severe to moderate. These 3rd party studies prove the success of their services in a real, observable way.

30-90 Day Treatment Program

Paradigm’s 30-90 day residential treatment program provides highly individualized, methodical, and strategic care for every client in their program. They recognize that no two individuals are the same, and as such, the therapeutic modalities they use are dynamic, evidence-based, and diverse. This allows Paradigm to balance the need for tailored treatment while also using proven, results-driven approaches.

Teens and Young Adults Treated Separately

Paradigm Treatment serves teens (12-17) and young adults (18-26) who are struggling with a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, self-harm, suicidality, dual-diagnoses, and anger management issues. Separating based on age allows for the most applicable and comprehensive treatment, also ensuring that each group is surrounded by relatable peers.

Combining Academics With Therapeutic Self-Discovery

One of Paradigm’s most successful therapy activities is memoir writing. In this exercise, teens write a narrative account of their life, allowing them to work through past events and set up a future for themselves. Designated school time and a classroom environment keep teens motivated through the academic component of their treatment, setting them up for greater success in and out of school.

We lost one of our sons to suicide, which nearly destroyed his twin brother and our family. The loving and knowledgeable staff took in our shattered son and began the process of helping him want to live again. [They] extended the same love, support and education to our family, and we are now finally moving forward with hope. There is no doubt that Paradigm saved our son and our family.
