About The Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center

The Sylvia Brafman is a dual-diagnosis treatment center with a special focus on mental health care. They can treat addiction and complex mental health concerns as a stand alone condition or simultaneously as a co-occurring disorder. Sylvia Brafman believes the first step to recovery is a correct and accurate diagnosis. Once assessed properly, patients can begin to work on the root cause of the condition through tailored clinical, spiritual, and psychiatric support. In a small and intimate setting, patients can engage in individual and group therapy sessions based upon evidence-based treatment. Wellness is also incorporated into the program and includes TMS treatment for depression, genetic testing, nutrition counseling, sound therapy, yoga, and physical fitness programs.

Career Counseling and Family Therapy

The Sylvia Brafman has 2 unique programs: a family program and a career counseling track. Sylvia believes that family is central to the healing process. This program provides mental health counseling designed to help family members resolve disputes and enhance communication and comprehension. The main objective of the Career Launch Program is to help patients advance in their jobs after therapy is over or to find satisfying work following recovery.

Varying Levels of Outpatient Care

Sylvia Brafman does all this in a flexible yet structured outpatient setting. With varying levels of intensity, they guide patients to the treatment that’s right for them. Partial hospitalization (PHP) consists of the most therapy, where patients receive mental health treatment for 6 hours a day for 5 days a week. Intensive outpatient programing (IOP) provides therapy sessions 3 times a week, for 3 hours each time. Outpatient is a step down from IOP and consists of 1 hour of group therapy every week, as well as 1-2 individual therapy sessions each week and 1 family therapy session each week.
